In the ground I think.

The BBC failed to mention....
The fracking site, 10 am today; only 7 protesters

Yeah, let's get fracking.

Fracking suspended near Blackpool after 0.8 magnitude earthquake recorded.

sorry to disagree chris but the CEO of both Igas & cuadrilla have been on national TV & asked by andrew neil & andrew mar if this gas will bring down the price of gas in this country & both said no . if that,s the case then 2 questions arise , where is this gas designated for & if it wont bring down the price of gas then why frack ? .

Whups. If somebody opened a new pub in Ashton, would it bring the price of ale down?
If somebody opened a chippy in Pemberton, would the price of fish drop?
No!
Because it's called 'business'. They're doing it for the money.
Also, the UK imports 45% of it's gas from the EU 'single market'. When we pull out, if we aren't allowed in the single market, we'll need as much gas as we can produce. Plus some. That's forward thinking!
Electric comes from the EU single market power stations too.
So you can expect that to go up an'all!!

A magnitude of 0.8?
Is this really news?
A bit of research tells me these happen millions of times a year all over the world, practically permanently ongoning. So on that basis what makes this particular one so special?
Oh hang on a minute.......

we wont see any of that gas & opening a pub or a chippy isnt going to ruin anything is it . if we want carbon fuel then open some pits ? .
Replied: 27th Oct 2018 at 21:20
Pits seem to be the enemy of the tree huggers. Closing them all in Alberta by 2030 I believe.

anyone notice that these tremors are going up ? . now at 1.1 .
Replied: 29th Oct 2018 at 16:43
The measurements are based on logarithmic scales.
2.5 is the level at which tremors are felt with slight damage. A 2.5 level tremor is more than 30,000 times stronger than a 1 level tremor and releases more than 177,000 times the amount of energy.

so what . how many tremors have they had since they started drilling ? .

Question.
Has coal mining caused earthquakes?
Replied: 29th Oct 2018 at 22:45
no but it caused subidence. so will fracking when the rock & earth is removed. i guess you would like fracking near you would you ? .

"Fracking is the process of drilling down into the earth before a high-pressure water mixture is directed at the rock to release the gas inside.
Water, sand and chemicals are injected into the rock at high pressure which allows the gas to flow out to the head of the well.
The process can be carried out vertically or, more commonly, by drilling horizontally to the rock layer, which can create new pathways to release gas or used to extend existing channels"
Are you sure rock and earth is removed???

Whups I think you will find there is a link between coal mining and earthquakes. Just to clarify, I'm not having a go at miners, they did a tremendous job keeping the country warm and the wheels of industry turning.I grew up in an area where many neighbours were coal miners.
Ollerton Earthquakes

Hi whups. Golborne itself caused more than it's fair share of earthquakes over the years. Parts of Lowton were regularly shaken by underground earth movements caused by mining. The East Lancs was closed in the early 80's by an 18 inch step straight across the junction with Stone Cross lane. This was the surface plot of a large geological fault which we were causing to move as the Plodder was mined beneath it. If you look in the fields to the south of the East lancs there you will see the step that was left across the fields.

chris you were a surveyor at golborne & know how this works . high pressure breaking rock will enevitally create gaps in the strata . it will undoubtly collapse & cause subsinece . if you get the time chris then look for a dvd called gastown by johnathon fox . watch it then get back to me on our blog in places .

A report was released yesterday that stated “ the background tectonic loading rate appear to be one of the predominant factors that control the regions response to injection induced earthquakes”
Note to Chris. This was published in Geophysical Research Letters. I will retain the cutting from the Calgary Herald.

johnothan fox is the only person ever to be ejected from the house of representatives because the gas & oil did,nt want him hearing the tests they did in the town which feachered on his video .how much misinformation do you want chris ? .
