Back in the 1960's, London tube trains carried an advert that became well known for missing out all the vowels. It was an advert for a publication:
'DLTNS WKLY'
Very, very successful, as you had to give it some thought, so it had more of an impact.
After over half a century, it is the only tube ad that sticks in my mind! Even the sexy lingerie adverts, which I recall cloaked the tube in profusion, I cannot actually recall any of the brand names.
