So very sad to hear of the passing of Pat Dooney , his knowledge and enthusiasm of the local Amateur Game in the 1960's & 70's was second to none ! Pat played for the Wigan & District Schoolboys in the mid 1960's , going on to play for Wigan Athletic First Team and Reserves in the late 1960's . When in the Reserves , he even played alongside the great Harry Lyon , who was approaching the end of his career at that time . R.I.P. Pat , we will miss you

Rest in Peace FP.

I didn't know you personally, and although I am a member of the "opposition", I am deeply saddened by your passing.

You brought a level of football knowledge and insight of the game to this site that none of us will surpass.

Take it easy Pal.

Condolences to all who knew, or knew of him.
