Longevity

Beeb News (just)

Increase in life expectancy has stalled in UK, and has done more so in UK than any other advanced economy!

We are way behind countries like Japan, and being overtaken by Eastern European countries.

Any opinions to offer on why this might be?

Would not be surprised if that does make some contribution, but we are less obese than are the Septics.

Longevity is not good imho,, there's no fun in spending 10 years in a home looked after by others,
When the fun stops, there should be a quick painless way out, There's no cure for ' overstaying your welcome'

I'm hoping I have inherited my mothers and her sisters genes. All but one lived well into their nineties, only two of them needing to be in a home. The one living the longest managed to get to one hundred and six. Although she was in a home it was only the last eighteen months of life that she deteriorated rapidly.
Seem to be doing ok up to now.

There is no relationship of longevity to heredity. What ever age your parents or grandparents die, does not affect how long you live.
