Lifts

Is it just me but does anyone get jittery in a lift. The Debenhams one scares me.I use it because those blasted stairs do my legs in. I have noticed though that them doors don't half take ages to open.I get all claustrophobic. And the one in Boots has well is another. I won't even bother with the one near Argos when i first used it i didn't realise it opened both ways. I stood there with my back to the open door panicking because the door would not open, much to the amusement of passing shoppers.I remember when i was at college and the one there got stuck. I had just used it as well. A group of girls in there were really upset. I can cope with the galleries one because its see through and i can bang and scream if it gets stuck.I think that i have watched too many films over the years where the lift fails and falls into the bottom or its left dangling or even worse its stuck between floors and knowing me, just has i'm halfway out it moves.I go all funny when i think about it.Where does this fear come from? Maybe i was locked in somewhere in a past life.Does anyone else have this fear or any others?

Have we got time disco diva? Fears/phobias of mine - lifts/spiders/creepycrawlies in general/thunder & lightning....

PAYING OUT OF TURN.

I won't go in a lift as I'm very claustrophobic. Abroad, where they have large lifts, I'm not too bad but I won't get in a lift that's no bigger than what will eventually be my coffin!

I got stuck in one at a train station. I had to change trains on way back from edinburgh, got in lift and doors refused to open so i missed my train. It was about 7pm, no one was around it was un manned. I sat on my suitcase waiting for next train to come knowing someone would likely use the lift. When they did push the button and the door opened there was a massive plume of lambert n butler smoke came out. I was terrified.

lifts terrify me i have a fear of them just stopping and being stuck there..i dont like escalators either they are worse.

The lift at Debenhams is enough to strike fear into anyone - it has a bloody life of its own. Doesn't matter which button you press it won't go in that direction. Reminds me of that lift in 'Thoroughly Modern Millie'.

My wife hates lifts and we have to walk up or down allmost all the time. She also does not like flying and our son had to blackmail her into taking a trip to Spain sometime back, now she will just about go there if the flight is no longer than two and half hours. She prefares one foot on the ground so sailing is out too.
