Is it time for a change?

Started by: Anne (4476)

This morning, for no apparent reason I checked up how long I had been at my present address, it was 49 years come autumn. What is the longest you have been at any one address? Is it too long, am I a stick in the mud?

Half a century of not having to face the trauma of moving. I envy you!

Forty three years. We moved a few years ago and no regrets whatsoever.

We moved into our council house in March 1973 and I have always paid full rent and still am at 79 years old and I have never claimed any housing benefit and before you all jump on the bandwagon as to why I never bought the house there is a good reason

We bought our house in 1972
The bar was a strong selling point for me
I didn't look at the other rooms etc

Bar and fancy wall was solid brick-work right down to the
foundations

All now removed including the Canon Gas Miser

….use the bar much ?
yes, in those days I drank my share
We bought the house because it had a bar in it

Mrs C there pouring me a drink of Watneys; from memory I think you screwed a gas canister on to make the beer gaseous
Mrs C was partial to Snowball drinks

Now I'm Teetotal, have been for about 16 years
...couple more photos later

Getting back to Anne's question
We have only lived at our present address
Married in 1972; bought this house at same time
We were only 'Courting' for about 5 months

We occasionally considered moving in the early years, but I couldn't be bothered to make the effort

Unlikely that we will move now until we have to

So Anne, are you looking to move or stay at your present home ?

Or undecided

Not moving, put too much in this place and don't want to start all over again. By the time I had things as I wanted I would probably be too old to care. I don't believe there is a perfect place left by someone else.
