Danny Kirwan...

Danny Kirwan former Fleetwood Mac guitarist has died aged 68. Danny played in the Mac from 1968 to 1972.

Sad news.

Peter greens fleetwood mac were the tops...green manalishi 👍👍👍

I will always remember the early Mac, they were undoubtedly my favourite band. Danny shared lead guitar with two other fine guitarists, Peter Green and Jeremy Spencer; they would alternate on stage and it was this that made them such a unique band. Sadly, Jeremy left during a U.S. tour in 1970, and Peter quit shortly after.

The band carried on with Danny and Bob Welch sharing lead, with Christine Perfect (later to become Mrs McVie), joining on keyboards. They released a few good albums, but that line-up dissolved in 1972. A couple of Americans entered the band soon after and the rest is history.

I still favour the early Mac.
