Watched a documentary tonight about the kidnapping of the racehorse
Shergar..what a story,..on bbc i ..under History.

He was a great horse nomac.

Won the derby in a common canter ridden by Walter Swinburn nicknamed the choir boy .

I had him to win myself a few sovs and never had a moments doubt.

Didnt see the programme this evening but will try to watch on catch up .

Won by 10 lengths and was so fancied you could 'bet without the favourite'.
Glint of Gold who had never finished out of the first two was available at 2-1,..happy days.

Walter Swinburne had an amazing bond with him..and the fact that he was
such a quiet horse and lovely natured made it all the more poignant.

L P had the mount when he won the Irish derby virtually hard held with Lester sitting motionless as he often did when riding a class horse.

We are talking here about a top class horse and possibly the best jockey ever.
