Great to see and hear there are musicians in Wigan forming bands and doing original music.
I have had a number of listens to 'Always Waiting' and for me, it has some really nice touches. But, I personally feel that the sounds do not always compliment each other and do not do the song justice. The fourteen second guitar introduction is very nice, but the following heavy and distorted sounds are overpowering and the guitars would sound better with a cleaner sound instead of the 'dirty rock sound'. Following this dirty rock sound (at 34 seconds) the song drops due to the previous heavy 'distorted sound'.
The vocals could carry this song without the extremely heavy sounds and I would enhance some of the vocal parts, which I feel need enhancing and stretching. I also feel, less guitar would work better and the instrumental part which appears at 2.28 doesn't work and as the song is 3 minutes and 37 seconds long, then does the song really need this 20 second lead guitar and bass guitar part.
Additionally, I would replace the seven-second ending with something more appropriate.
Personally speaking, I would strip the song down and rebuild it around the many positives the song has. And! The song is worth it. This is a good song, but it could sound better.
Please understand, that I am being constuctive and I am not spending my valuable time typing these words for the sake of being a miserable sod who likes to criticise others.
I strongly support original music and local music has always greatly interested me.
I would like to wish the four of you the best of luck and I hope the future is going to be productive and successful.
