Handclappers

I ask have we become a nation of handclappers,who ever walks on stage,gets a thunderous handclapping,when you see Trump enter a room the thing he does is clap the audience, then he claps the leader of which country is visiting,then he claps when he leaves the room,a singer reaches a certain note they clap that.

Not sure I like this minute of clapping at sports events when someone has died. It's usually football. is it because ans can't observe a minute of silence?
