Yes custard,I've knit jumpers crocheted christening gowns, made my
Daughters wedding cake, birthday cakes, and paint in oils..I love anything
that involves using my hands..I too would love to know what type of bag
you're making.

Me to custard.... I was going mention the two ladies above also Kevan, model railways, cordy line, woodworking. I enjoy knitting, sewing, greetings card making and anything I am pretty sure I can achieve successfully.

I love sewing but have given it up because every time I start to use it ,it
goes haywire,my S.I.L could use it,no problem,I even get shocks on
escalator hand rails, got shocks from nylon clothes when I was nursing, had
shocks from cookers..I used to love my old little Singer sewing machine,I of
course had none of that.
Replied: 28th Apr 2018 at 08:33
Yes. Not so much now as I used too. I made all my daughter's clothes and knitwear when they were young. Not good enough when they discovered designer clothes though 😂😂😂
Like Nanajacqui, I still do alterations and repairs. I even had to put a new zip into a side panel for a gazebo last year 😂

Replied: 28th Apr 2018 at 19:15
Beryl's,there used to sparks flying through the air when we took the old
folks underwear off,I used to get some awful shocks from the bed rails..and
nobody would come near me for five or ten minutes after.

Nobody deserves to be treated like that, her and the other keyboard warriors, could have left it but no.
These are why less people are posting.

I've got a good industrial sewing machine for sale, if anybody's interested. It's a Brother. Like This One.
It's not cheap, laaaaike!
Replied: 6th Jun 2018 at 21:37
What have you been sewing on that Tonker..
Replied: 6th Jun 2018 at 21:53
Tonker. It is a very good sewing machine but as you said industrial.
It isn't much use to someone who is creating craft items.
Domestic machines are multi purpose and do far more than lockstitch.
That machine you have for sale is the workhorse of the sewing industry and no fashion, household, car interior etc could be put together without one.
There are a myriad of specialised industrial machines that do a lot of other fancy things but the domestic sewing machine has them all rolled into one.
Replied: 6th Jun 2018 at 22:04
Yes, we have a programmable one in our blind factory that was very, very expensive. It can do loads of things, but it never does, it only ever makes drapes for vertical blinds!
That one for sale was bought as a spare, but has never been used!
Replied: 6th Jun 2018 at 22:19
I have a nice electric machine that works for everyone else, but the
minute I use it it goes bananas..same with a few leccy goods....hubby says
I need earthing,I should use a treadle Singer one.
Replied: 6th Jun 2018 at 22:23
In that case I would still keep the lockstitch as backup, Tonker, it only does one job but is reliable and is very unlikely to let you down.

Sounds like it Momac . Try wearing wellies when you use it.
I used at treadle machine in my very young years in the sewing industry, very hard work when you are sewing all day. Then they electrified them, my what a difference.

I don't know if anyone remembers the Summer shows in Mesnes park, I think they started in the 1950's.
At the time our school was entered in competition in some sections of the show.
Our year was entered into the baking section and my bread rolls got a 1st. because my Baps rose bigger than everyone else's 😂
