I lived in Prescott Street and I've never heard of Mayflower Road.Right at the end of Miry Lane was a little street named Horsefield Street if I remember rightly.

Hi,the book is Return to Wigan Pier. Ted Dakin. i now live in leyland, got it in the local library I was born in Glebe End St He says he was born in the bottom house in Miry Lane Wallgate,he speaks of the hollis haulage people, Roy.

I knew of a family by the name of Hollinshead who lived at the bottom of Prescott Street/Miry Lane and I think they had something to do with haulage or something similar.

I think the road in Kitt Green is Mayfield, not Mayflower.
