Just watching Back in time for dinner on BBC and they are making Wigan Shape Iíve never heard of it !!

My mother would say they would have Slap butties for tea when the money was tight, that was bread with bacon or pork dripping spread on, never heard of them being called Shape either.

Don't think I could eat fatty dripping either, though if needs be I suppose you would eat most things you didn't think you could eat.

Brilliant programme. Fancy, in the early 1900's, 250 tripe shops in Manchester. Hilarious when the mum kept apologising to the rabbit when she was gutting it. Hard to believe one of the daughters didn't know how to chop an onion.! 😮
