What is your "favourite" album?

After much deliberation, I considered Led Zep IV, Station to Station (David Bowie), Astaire (Peter Skellern), amongst many others, but I settled on:

"The Heart of Saturday Night", Tom Waits.

What's yours?

Good thread 0 years , apologies for choosing three ( although could easily have picked ten ) ! 1 Mr Natural : The Bee Gees , Polydor 1974 : 2 Help : The Beatles , Parlophone 1965 . 3 Venus and Mars : Paul McCartney & Wings , Parlophone 1975 .

A very tough one this, so I too would have to pick my top 3

1. Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers : The Live Anthology : realised in 2009 on Universal records
2. Tom Petty : Wildflowers : realised in 1994 on Warner Bros records
3. Robin Gibb: St Catherine's Drive : realised in 2014 on Rhino Records

I could pick dozens of albums, but in the interests of brevity and diversity here are my three:-

'Tubular Bells' - Mike Oldfield - a seminal and ground braking multi million seller.
It was followed by 'Hergest Ridge', 'Ommadawn' and 'Incantations', arguably his best compositions.

'All Things Must Pass' - George Harrison - his first solo work after the break-up of the Beatles in 1970.

'Below the Salt' - Steeleye Span - I'm a bit of a folkie so had to include the best folk rock band of all time, just superb.

I completely agree, it is difficult to choose one, so top three it is.

There are some cracking choices in the above posts.

I "youtubed" roylew's choice and the saying "on another planet" doesn't come close.
