Healthwatch Wigan and Leigh is your independent local consumer champion for health and social care.

We are currently seeking the views and experiences of veterans accessing health andsocial care services in the Borough.

This is your chance to have yor say and help us make sure that every member of the armed forces community in this Borough receives the treatment and care they deserve.

I know I am not from either place. My hubby spent 6 years from 80 to 86. I don't know how the va veteran affairs is over there the one over here sux. They knew things about my hubby health that they held off telling him. If they would have told him he could have been saved. The va helped by paying for his last hospital bills. He tries to get a non service related claim going but he died just a few months from it being good. He wanted to get a service one because he was exposed to radiation while in the military. They don't want to admit to any wrong doing.

Sounds like the care for your veterans is pretty inadequate too then madamemurray.

I do hope some of our Wigan World friends will share and respond to the survey. Nothing can be done if people don't speak out and this is their opportunity, at least for our local veterans in Wigan Borough

He had a non service claim going on and it was denied. Of course they denied him he passed away. Stupid
