Progressive Long Term Conditions

Started by: jo anne (34764)

Wellbeing Experience - a project by Wigan and Leigh Hospice (2017)

Presently in the Borough there is limited palliative care support for people living with a non curative cancer or progressive long term conditions in the early stages of their condition. They often receive support and advice in the later stages when it is often too late to be of any benefit.

Solution
The Oak Centre at the Hospice will provide therapeutic interventions, advice and education workshops on all aspects of living with life limiting conditions. With the aim of enabling them to gain a high quality of life as their condition permits.

The Christmas Challenge lets you double your donation till the 'matching pot' is used up or midday Tues 5th Dec (whichever comes first).

Had I known in the past, how much aggro and discomfort, and deterioration of my feet would result from varicose veins, I would have had them dealt with when much younger, even though it would probably have to have been private and expensive!

The sort of preventative treatment which NHS fails to deliver, and picks up the expensive consequences of so doing further along, and the patient endures the adverse consequences.

That’s a fair point, Priscus.

Oak Fest starts today! Wigan Today:

The three-day event will highlight the wellbeing services offered by the Oak Centre.

“When people come here they talk, they laugh, they meet people and they find it’s a really safe space."
