has anyone ever worked there? They do advertise a lot on the job websites

I think you have to speak Polish to get a job there...

Я слышал, что ты действительно должен говорить на русском, чтобы там работать

YA slyshal, chto ty deystvitel'no dolzhen govorit' na russkom, chtoby tam rabotat'

I think they advertise a lot because they have a high turnaround of staff for some reason.

I have a nephew who works there, He's happy (18 year old) Its a proper job, meaning employed by poundland not an agency, he's on shift work with regular hours, holiday pay and good clean conditions, He's on slightly more than the min wage and thats about as good as you can expect today,

Correct tomplum....he’s got youth on his side..

Any new business normally has a quick turn round on staff, some times people don't like the job or are not suitableAfter a short time the work force in general settle down

Does it employ the 800 that the council said it would?

tom minimum wage or not theres still no better feeling come payday you've got money in the bank and that you've earned it,i allways felt better when working, sadly the majority of the youth today dont seem to want to better themselves and would sooner hang about the streets or get drugged up,i pity the really they'll never know the joys beibg in a job can bring

..... the majority of the youth today .....

No. Not the majority!

I agree entirely with that LG, Its a pity though that through no fault of their own, they will not enjoy what we had, A true living wage, small earnings to start but as time went on, earnings that would keep a family in food, clothes, home and some left at the end of the week to save up for luxuries, Nowadays a working person on Minimum wage has to work and then needs a 'top up' benefit just to survive,

Next year, a working 'couple', on minimum wage, should have a net income of over £500 a week. If a household can't cope on that it's time t'chuck it!

cash is King, all the politicians know this, they all get kick backs in brown envelopes and thats way there will never be a 'cash free' society,

Correct. Ask Frankie Fredericks the Olympic sprinter. Just arrested for accepting £230,000 for “ Consultancy fees” That’s a lot of advice.

"Does it employ the 800 that the council said it would?"

You'll be very lucky to get an answer to that, the council are in complete silent running at this time, even the support group have been silenced, must be a big nasty due to be announced. Only the PR representative is allowed to post.
