Wigan Council
Started by: nanajacqui (967)  Report abuse
I must give them credit where it's due. With the 3 weekly collections starting soon I requested they change my small wheelie bins for large ones & a nice young man has just taken my old ones & replaced with new ones & no charge

well done - ask and you might get is a good philosophy for life.

what's the difference in sie between small and large ?

Posted by: PeterP (6112) Report abuse
John59 I think the small bins are about a 1/3 less in size.

Wigan councils don't do bathrooms, contractors do,

Have double glazing put in new central heating loft insulation cavity wall insulation new kitchens bathroom/toilets.New roofs and solar panel plus a rewire not quite a rebuild but close enough not bad for a council houseAnd to add insult to injury you can then buy it for a knock down price

tom plum who pays the contractors???are you saying they just walked into my house and did it for free, thanks for letting me know they do..

And when they change the collections to 4 weeks you can ask for an even bigger bin, wonderful, what logic.

Love it.

LG, you pay the contractor indirectly throu your rent, there's no free anything,

Posted by: broady (12646)   Report abuse
There is if you don't pay rent. I don't think they discriminate between households that pay rent and those that don't.

Posted by: tomplum (4406)  Report abuse
even if they don't pay rent, they pay tax in one form or another, like i said there's no free anything, if you buy bread, there's a tax on it,

I hear what you say. However you've gotta buy a lot of bread to get a bathroom fitted.
