EU

Following the latest news about the Brexit meeting's with D.DAVIES & M .BARNIER The latter warning us of a "Fundamental Divergence" over E.U.Nationals here and Brits over there.
Also HE IS DEMANDING to know were we stand on us paying a "divorce bill" of an estimated £ 85 BILLION POUNDS.
What i would very dearly want to express to these THUGS WHO ARE DEMANDING A RANSOM ( of which there is nothing in the maestric agreements in fact there are no provisions any-where in writing of a country which wants to leave have to pay "leaving charge") So back to what i wish to tell these Robber's is this ,

DO YOU REALIZE THAT THIS COUNTRY WENT TO THEIR HELP IN 1914-1918 AND IN 1939 -1945. Does that count for frig all?? All the young lad's and men who gave away their lives so that they could be free from tyranny and oppression, as for all those hangers on the likes of POLAND ,FRANCE,ETC
HAVE THEY ANY THOUGHT'S or COMPASSION AT WHAT BRITAIN DID FOR THEM ??? OBVIOUSLY NOT .. Now they are treating us with so much contempt, they are now coming up with all sorts of CRAP about this and that. When all one has to do is look back 40 odd years as to what happened back then why we traded with them they traded with us nothing more simpler, but no not now they want to bleed this country dry and for why??? they truly have very short memories, Well i should make it crystal clear to them that should they ever need help in the future i suggest who-ever is our P.M. TO just say" BOG OFF WE WANT NOWT TO DO WITH THE LIKES OF SUCH SCUM".

and so say any true blue/red brit.
I would show them utter contempt and walk out with a few choice words ringing in their ears....the untrustworthy French without notifying their alli- Britain, it cost us dearly, surrendered behind our backs hoping for a deal with the Nazis....the Vichy frogs got one.

Golden Bear - the fact that you made the following statement - ".... as for all those hangers on the likes of POLAND .....", simply shows that you don't know your arse from your elbow and, in light of that, shouldn't have been allowed a vote in the EU referendum. And neither should a few million other know-nowts.

I just cannot get my head around all this nastiness from the member's of the brexit team representing Europe. Also what i would wish to see, check is to how much nett contributions has the UNITED KINGDOM payed to Brussel' since 1973 ? Does anyone know where one could obtain such data ??? I strongly believe its all about money , it is obvious they will miss the huge cash cow that was U.K's payment for being a member ( mug)

GB....according to a recent Telegraph article Britain is the second highest contributor to the EU. There are ten countries who contribute, Germany being the highest contributor. However when payments are broken down to per head of population Britain drops down to eighth position Dutch people each paying four times more than British people. That of course is one of the simplest ways of viewing things.

GB.... about the Poles, my husbands brother in law was Polish who fought his way through occupied Europe to join 'our side' during the war. After serving as did many other Poles he declined repatriation preferring not to return to a communist state. Also one of my husbands work colleagues did the same thing. Both made first class citizens and contributions to society.

GB, it's not just about giving the EU a divorce bill as in paying to leave. It's about fulfilling signed and sealed commitments. Some of these projects will benefit the UK which is why we agreed to fund them in the 1st place.

Whatever the figure, surely this is only money that we would have been paying in if we were to remain so should already be budgeted for over the next however many years. Otherwise we shouldn't have agreed to fund them in the 1st place.

Are we a country that doesn't honour agreements?

Your view that they should take world wars into consideration is ridiculous. Imagine Italy chose to leave, but were given a bigger bill than us, on the grounds they sided with the Nazi's.

Section 8. I honestly appreciate your comments ,it's just that at times i get so bloomin frustrated with the pillocks that are running and trying to negotiate our term's ,surely it cannot be that difficult? Also these m.p.s remainer's who appear to be trying to stall/block/delay proceedings are they forgetting the will of the people in last year's ref?

And again with me remarking about the war's ! there again it infuriates me that as a country that supposedly came out on top ,well we have not done a good job then have we?? SO
have a nice day!

The 'allies' in World War 2 included Britain, France, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, India, the Soviet Union, China and the United States of America.

We, as a country, weren't on our own. We, therefore, didn't 'come out on top'. In fact, nobody did. Except, maybe, 'them men', and 'them men' will always come out on top because 'us men' look up to 'them men' as our leaders.
And 'them men' lead 'us men' because 'us men' don't know how to look after ourselves.

I too get frustrated at them, GB. They don't appear to know what they are doing.

If you get down to the basics, Mrs May is negotiating something that she knows will make the country economically worse off. No matter what she chooses.

All those nasty EU laws that leavers didn't want Brussels having over us. Oh, we've decided to adopt them into our own law, probably because we voted for them in the 1st place.

We've also always had control of our borders especially from outside the EU, but the Tories did nothing about it. Probably because overall it benefits us.

Not all leavers but some of the more intelligent ones must surely be regretting what they've got us in to. It's now apparent it's a little bit more complicated than in or out.

Brexit has become an embarrassment.

When the UK triggered Article 50 it lost the right to the EU treaty benefits negotiated by Mrs. Thatcher and John Major.
If the UK now wished to cancel Article 50 it would lose the financial contribution rebates and would have to sign up to closer integration within the EU. It would also have to commit to joining the Euro currency and other aspects of EU rules to which have not, so far, found favour with the UK.

"Britain stood alone after the fall of Dunkirk"

Really?

I guess all this talk of the USA joining the allies after the attack on pearl harbour 18 months later must be all bunk then?

I think that Britain will do a lot more trade with the USA when we leave Europe, because it should be noted that transport, in the shape of container ships are a lot bigger and faster than what they were prior to 1974 when we joined the then EEC so trade of all types, perishable foods etc can cross the Atlantic relatively quickly these days and so plug any gap in the present trade with the EU after Brexit and the big new container terminal in Liverpool, can take ships of any size in the world, so you might be drinking milk and using other cow products from America in years to come

During the referendum debate, I asked my MP, my MEP and at a debate I attended which had an MP on the remain side, (can't remember her name), how much the pension bill was going to be for all the MEPs, admin, etc. of the EU, as the EU rolled on and employed more and more sycophants (I didn't use that word at the time!), family members, etc.

I never got an answer. After Article 50, Tusk said to May that Britain must continue to contribute its' share to the ongoing pensions (over and above the British MEPs). That conversation has been swept under the carpet.

The reason I voted out was because the cost of the EU is rolling out of all control and our descendants are not going to be able to afford it. The cost of public sector pension in this country alone is unaffordable.

We had no control over our benefit system, sending child benefit, for example, back to children in Poland and other EU countries is not affordable.
