Pica

Started by: madamehmurray (6273)

Any women out there experienced this. Pica is the practice of craving substances with little or no nutritional value. Most pregnancy and pica related cravings involve non-food substances such as dirt or chalk. The word pica is Latin for magpie which is a bird notorious for eating almost anything.

Well Erin, mine was eating raw potatoes, drinking milk non stop..other
cravings were filling a hankie with Dettol to take to bed with me and sniffing it as I drifted off to sleep...scrubbing the kitchen floor every day with
Ajax scouring powder..loved the smell of it..couldn't stand the smell of tea.
Just everyday things really.
But the best I ever saw was my Sister in law munching on a piece of coal.
