Just got in from walking the dog in Mesnes Park, arrived about 3-30 and there are 3 police cars outside the cafe, whithin minutes the whole of the northside of the park was cordened off all along the football field facing Pagefield Mill. Just come out of the park, (4-15) and there are two fire engines and umpteen police cars and a Ambulance. Something bad has happened in there.Copied from my FB page

It's a listed building I-spy with some very nice brickwork to the front, though it has been left to rot, the college spent many thousands to maintain it through their time in there, in the end it was deemed to be cheaper to build a new college. It's a pity has some very nice apartments have been constructed in former cotton mills.

Ann-Spam: "do these things quietly or speak to someone"

I'd rather people do things out in the open, Ann, if it means there's more chance of them making it to get help and hopefully get better. People do have to be involved in their own recovery but sometimes others can be the kick-start &/ ongoing support that enable them to do it.

My Son works in Gateshead..last month one of the staff 33 years old threw
himself off the Tyne Bridge and two days ago another one 50+ took an
overdose..it seems that some can't talk when they are so down..I know the
second chap wouldn't tell anyone how he was feeling, which is an awful
position to be in..and yes I agree jo Anne if only they would talk about it..I'm
sure there's help, out there when people are so down and depressed..I
could cry for them..and have.

Ann..you've always been a worker and I remember seeing you some years
ago when you were having a tough time, you were as thin as a rake, but you
came through it..you're a very tough person as well..but I think women are
tougher than the average man..when it comes to depression.anyway, you've come out the other side ..we must remember that a lot of people aren't as
strong as ourselves flower.
