I think my first wages were about £3.10 a week which my mother took £2.00, and left me with £1.10s Then when I started "BOARDING" I think she gave me another £1.? That was in 1963

Same as admin £3.10s Mam give me £1.10s Plus my paper money 12s.6p. Which gave me £2.2s 6p. I kept my paper round up for the first year. It helped as the paper shop and the butchers shop where I worked were both on Gidlow Lane.
