They come out of the woodwork when they need too. Better get used to it, it's only going to get worse.

Yes, I read it, it's terrible. I don't think police like dealing with young people for some reason and they seem to get away with anti-social behavior. They wouldn't be doing it if they were afraid of any real consequences from the police..

Crime in general is out of control. Goes hand in hand with lack of discipline, morals and a disregard for society and fellow man.

I agree and to a large extent it is because of people like jarvo, who cause it by being a bad role model for young people.

Teresa May is doing a great job.........

.......according to some on here.

They must put the blinkers on when it comes to the effects of Tory cuts.

People seem to focus on what she says, and completely ignore that what she does is often the polar opposite!

I think she is a hell of a lot better than the chap who she replaced and straight away she got rid of all Camerons toffee nosed cronies from the Government

I don't think we can blame this on Teresa May. Anti-social behaviour and yobs have been a problem for many years and in many areas of Wigan.

But the cuts in the Policing budget can be blamed on the Tory Government which has increased the problem.

But as Peterp said at the start of the thread there were twelve available for an incident in Manchester yesterday. There are plenty available for all the demos that seem to take place on a regular basis.

Demos are planned in advance, they draft cops in or pay them overtime if large numbers of them are needed.

But its hardly fair to compare a gang of louts running around to the deaths of two people in tragic and as yet unknown circumstances in a very public place.

Seems a bit contrary. They draft police in to control demos about the lack of police on the street and other Government cutbacks.

Stardelta just explained it.

Did he?? I was saying it is ironic that, in austere times, valuable public resources are spent on policing demos complaining about cut backs in public spending.

Stardelta the point I was making is that NO POLICE are available to deal with yobs running riot. But after a very tragic accident/incident in which a car was cordoned off and the driver was already in custody it still needed the scene of crime unit plus 12 officers. To me a waste of man powerHow long before some one gets hurt or worse due to these idiots

I agree PeterP, these yobs put a traffic cone in the road when it was dark. This could have caused a serious accident and is a criminal offence, surely. Yet, there were no police available. What sort of message does that send out to them?

"To me a waste of manpower"

On the basis you have no appreciation of the circumstances and that you again prefer to take the narrow minded view.......it comes as no surprise.

If it bothers you that much complain to GMP and ask them why that many officers were present instead of moaning in here about it?

Stardelta try looking at some of the videos and make your own conclusions. Try the Manchester evening news one 1st and look at the police officers stood around doing nothingIf this makes me narrow minded so be it. You know the saying when you want a police officer you can never find one.

It's the Nimby Syndrome,I think Stardelta would have a different view if it was his street where this was happening.

It's terrible for the residents having to put up with that, especially any old people living on their own.Must be terrifying having gangs of youths shouting and rampaging around outside your home.

Of course I would complain......but if the response was "all our officers are tied up with far more serious issues" I wouldn't carry on bleating to all and sundry about it.

I sometimes think certain individuals can't wait to log on here and have a good old moan and whinge.
