There are many more smaller suppliers on the market than even a couple of years ago, I know as a rule they usually up their prices one after the other but increases can be lessened if you shop around.

I've signed a contract till March 2019 this morning with Sainsbury's Energy,

I canceled this on monday morning as we had till the 31st May
to run,

I was with Scottish power ,but last year I changed to a smaller provider.my monthly payments have dropped from £85 a month to £60 a month.mostly because they where charging an enormous amount in standing charges,yahoo for the small independent.
npower have put their head on the block ,yet still to few people switch providers.my advise to their customers, leave without any delay.

I fired the big six off 2yrs ago ,went with small company Green Star Energy,they deal in renewable energy had no problems cheaper than the big six robbers.

British Gas 'standard tariff' (that's without all the bells and whistles) is 13.92 pence per kwh and £94.90 per year 'standing charge'.

Will the prices come down when the £ appreciates.
Yesterday the Bank of America advised it's clients that the days of Sterling's weakness are numbered and they should factor in a long term strengthening of the £ .
