bottleneck

I live in Ince and as any drivers amongst you know, Ince Bar is a right pain for traffic so could anyone tell me why in their wisdom have the traffic people decided to put pedestrian crossing lights there when there are pedestrian crossings only 100 meters away in either direction To get out of Ince Green Lane is now going to be practically impossible, so if there are any councillors amongst us could you please give us some sort of explanation.

Probably their idea is to restrict traffic flow so much, that due to the congestion, you come to a stop, then they can charge you for parking, yes, maybe a bit cynical.

I agree with dave© - Wigan is being made more and more inaccessible, I think they are looking long term and will possibly introduce congestion charges.

There is a street that branches off Ince Green Lane called Anderton street that used to bypass Ince Green Lane without causing any congestion and what did the powers that be do, They put a road block on it half way up. no reason given just a road block so all traffic that wants to go towards Wigan from anywhere in that area has to go into Ince Green Lane what is the reason I wonder

A similar thing happened in Hindley, just after the Monaco Ballroom, there was a street which would allow you to bypass the traffic lights and end up on Liverpool Road. That routes been blocked. It does beg the question, is there some ulterior motive.

I think the one near the Monaco was done because of residents complaints of it being used as a rat run to avoid the lights but the drawback for them is that they now have to go all the way round to get to thier own homes.

Or is it in connection with the proposed new A5225 road, to make it more attractive, anyone heard anything about it?

these councilors turn up for these general meetings.
freebie butties and tea.
something a little stronger later.
(all on the house by the way, cos you pick up the tab)after getting bored with twist and brag, they take a peek at the burough map(by now the booze is kicking in) and decide...hey lets put a bollard there ...and a one way system there.
can we levy any charges anywhere???how about another 10 p on parking charges???.
well, i guess thats enough for this meeting, wheres the register for my expenses???aint nearly enough for all the sacrifises and hard work we do.
