Its great to see others enjoying bike ride and, Someone needs to talk to the rivers and canal authorities about gate management, With these big teams of cyclists there is a problem when they get to the gates on the towpath, A good idea would be to give the leaders a gate key to allow them all through and not cause a bottle neck at the gates,

That is a great idea, TomP, towpath gates can be a pain, but I suppose they’re a necessary evil. Not that they always deter menaces, unfortunately. Lads on e-bikes zoomed past me last week and one even rode for a few metres whilst doing a vertical wheelie!

those are illegal Surrons, they are a motor bike with an electric engine, You see groups of them and they wear masks, those bikes cost £5.000 so are probably stolen,

If Wigan Council are now organising cycles rides and there is a need for the cyclists go on the busy main roads, they need to do something about the ignorant motorists parking their vehicles on the cycle lanes like for example, Wigan Lane and Wigan Road between the Cherry Tree and
Standish Village Centre!

Otherwise what is the purpose of spending money on providing them?

The Be Well bike rides tend to stick to off-road routes, Owd Codger, but you’re right, vehicles parking on cycle lanes is a problem.

Cycle Three Sisters

Enterprise in Wallgate regular use the greencycle lane as an extra parking spot for their vehicles as do the garage next door and, The immediate reply when challenged is, " no one uses this lane" or the standard one used by any person parking illegally " I'm only gonna be a minute" ,,, Its a problem that no one seems to care about,,
