I recently did a job for a Marketeer, he does Wigan Bury,Bolton and Rawthenstall, He told me that. Wigan bend over backwards to give stall holders incentives to trade in Wigan, While Bolton and Bury charge high rents and you have to buy the lease as well to trade there, But, their Markets are buzzing with life, Wigan Market is Dire, Its not the council,Its not the stall owners, they move on because they can't earn a living, Its Wiganers are not shopping in the markets anymore,

Just a 'thought'

The owd Morrisons building is empty at that end of The Galleries and by doing this VAT thing and in effect putting the rents up by 20% and blaming 'Her Majesties Customs and Revenues' for having to doo it, then that will get rid of a number of Market Traders in one wicked swoop, then they can close Market Hall down, blame government for it and demolish the bottom end of The Galleries (which is what they want to do) and start again down there
