Other kids did.it.too. they.knew what we were doing putting down for nap they throwing a fit. He.goes to popeye and then grandma babies him and.he.gets his.way

I'm sure in infant school the teacher used to get out little beds and tell everyone to lie down for a rest [Highfield school]. I'msure she got the most benefit though.

When I was at infant school they didn't give us a nap, exact opposite actually, daydreaming was strictly banned as was yawning etc

Enforced with aggressive shouting and nasty smacking

Many moons ago about 1953 I spent a little while at St Oswalds pre school, I clearly recall small beds were erected after lunch and we had to have a nap. I don't think I ever slept as I was too in awe of the nuns. I also recall another little girl called Adrienne and we sheared our snacks we had to take with us.

I remember too going on a camp bed in the afternoon.at Stubshaw Cross school. About 1949.
