Actually, the council make sure the roads in Wigan are in good order. Wigan is what the money paid in by the residents of the rest of the towns under the same council is used for.

You want to have a drive around Wigan Tonker, the roads are full of potholes, at least during the day you can dodge them not so at night. Apparently it's the same nationwide, wonder what the road fund licence money is used for.

Tonker is situated in westhoughton so tell us Tonker whats it like around that area

I live in Ashton, ann-spam, not Westhoughton. I can confirm Ashton is pretty bad in places, but not as bad as Abram, Platt Bridge and Hindley!
Bickershaw Lane is terrible, Smiths Lane worse, the junction with Leigh Road appalling!
Westhoughton doesn't seem too bad really!!

do not worry a/f some 'jobs worth' has been marking out the potholes with white paint so that they can be worked on, in actual fact we have had some of ours up here for so long we are getting to be quite fond of them ,the new section which was surfaced from the lights to Abbey lakes has been waiting for finishing works for 15 months.
