Wigan Park.
Went through today' it was a pleasure to behold.
Supervised kids (with their parents) having a ball
Sledging, feeding the ducks, throwing snowballs, etc. Familys were really enjoying their day. All in good fun.
The cafe was doing a good trade
What concerned me was the old Grammar school clock was an eyesore as, It was not showing the correct time
I was gutted It, spoiled my day
Did anyone else (who visited today) feel as traumatised as myself knowing that the clock was wrong?

My people tell me three faces are under two mins slow, but the North East face is a different kettle of fish.
Minute hand is showing same as the other three, but big problem with the hour hand.
Anyone nipping out of their houses on Wrightington Street to get the right time may endure serious problems.

When i walked through i was disgusted to see near the steps that there was no one still working on whatever they are building with fencing that has been round for months in other countries they cope with cold and snow or maybe they are waiting for april new tax year for extra money .

Concerned park users could always request a floral clock so satisfy their needs.
Possibly best to apply in writing to:
Peter Richard Charles Smith, Baron Smith of Leigh
Wigan Council
Town Hall
Library Street
Wigan WN1 1YN

each face of the clock tells the accurate time twice a day

True, but sadly your average park user won't get the chance to see both occasions.

dougie, I saw Mitch before Christmas, he was o.k. then. There's a Golborne ex miners meeting next week, I' probably see him there.

I mentioned this thread on a Parish Church clock thread yesterday.
I couldn't find it (this one).
Much appreciated, Granada.
But, here's a yed scratcher. That address gets this message:
http://www.wiganworld.co.uk/communicate/mb_message.php?opt=f1&opt2=&msd=939846 ... - did not match any documents.
Don't know how or why that should be?
As this page is that very document. Look at the address bar at top of screen.
