Sextus

Does anyone know what this is and its whereabouts in Wigan?
Sextus - a sixth, a sixth stop of an organ.
It is a six-pointed knuckle attached to two identical elements made from cast iron.
(There's a recent photo' of it somewhere on Wiganworld.)

Sorry, Nicola.
Q. Does anybody know what Sextus is:
It is described as being a six-pointed knuckle attached to two identical elements made from cast iron.
Does that make any more sense?

First thought was that it was a self-help type group.
Is the knuckle description not relating to a chemical composition?

Anyway...I saw a woman crying earlier and so I asked her why she was upset, to which she replied, "I'm just so sick of people using bad grammar."
I sat beside her and comforted her by saying, "They're their."

I found his name on an informative plaque displayed near to Sextus.

The Fly Boat was right on the corner of the landscaped area by the end of 'the dock'. I think the path went past it to the playground.
It had an information board by it about Fly Boats on the L&L. Can't remember the name of the boat.
To be honest, the last time I saw it it looked a bit 'tired'. You could see daylight between the planking.
Seemed sad really, as it had been rescued and preserved.

It was on a raised bank Jo Anne. You would have probably noticed the rudder. You couldn't really see into the thing, as you were looking up at it.
It was close to the blue thing beneath the letter k of uk here.

Paint it black!.
'Hadcock's sculptures are not wholly organic, but look instead as if he has taken a natural form and subjected it to some sort of unearthly torque. The resulting pieces are full of twists and movements, as if bent out of shape by a giant and then discarded, before falling heavily on earth.'

I'm a bit of a lightweight, some might even say chicken, and pedalling my bike downhill on the canal towpaths is exhilaration enough for me.
