Veterans will be encouraged to join a new wheelchair rugby league club being set up (Link).
Weekly sessions run by Wigan Warriors Community Foundation will take place at Central Park, Montrose Ave, with a view to getting the club fully established and ready to enter a wheelchair rugby league in two years.
A launch and several friendly matches will be scheduled later on in the year.

4 Our Forces - Council News:
Wigan Borough’s armed forces facility is likely to be built on the land next to Trencherfield Mill.
The build is a collaborative project between Wigan Council and Wigan Sea Cadets and will be a facility for cadets to meet, whilst also being a central point for armed forces families to access a range of services.

Wigan Council - News:
Sat 25th June
Armed Forces Day, Wigan Town Centre, 10am - 4pm
A military parade, military vehicles, displays and information stalls, and spitfire flyover at 3pm.
The parade starts at 11am from Crompton St to Wigan Parish Church for a short service.
Free parking in council pay & display car parks in Wigan & Leigh town centres. (Commences in The Galleries and Water Street after 9:30am)
Arriva NW are offering free transport for veterans who show a valid ID card.
Sun 26th June
Mesnes Park Bandstand, The Duke of Lancaster’s Regimental Band will play from 1pm.

I've just read about Memorial Day in May, Erin - Link. Our remembrance days, Armistice Day & Remembrance Sunday, are in November.

Greater Manchester Royal British Legion Annual Church Service - FB Event
Each year the 27 Royal British Legion districts within Gtr Manchester hold a church service which in the past have been conducted in Manchester or Salford Cathedrals.
Tyldesley RBL therefore invite you along with family & friends to join us.
