I must admit, Kath, I don't pay the attention I should to the salt content of foods.

Typical values per 100g (2 sausages): Salt 1.2g, of which Sodium 0.5g

Salt: the facts - NHS:

Adults should eat no more than 6g of salt a day that's around one full teaspoon. Children should eat less.

Look at the figure for salt per 100g:

High is more than 1.5g salt per 100g (0.6g sodium) - may be colour-coded red.

Low is 0.3g salt or less per 100g (or 0.1g sodium) - may be colour-coded green.

Medium is between 0.3g and 1.5g per 100g - may be colour-coded amber.

As a rule, aim for foods that have a low or medium salt content. Leave high-salt foods for occasional use.
