Help needed with Lowton folk!! GERRARD Ann ASHTON nee GERRARD of Lowton was 75 when she died on 16-Nov-1891 (64 in the 1881 census) therefore born in 1816 between census month and 16-Nov. Ann GERRARD I have as possible (b. 22-Sep-1816) was christened in Winwick 27-Oct-1816 with Thomas & Betty as parents. This is a "BT" and therefore at a church in Winwick Parish. Can you help pinpoint where? In the 1841 Census, I have a Thomas (40) & Elizabeth (40) GERRARD HO 107 524-04 pg 5 folio 7 Ashton-in-Makerfield, Heath Lane. Are these Ann’s parents? Do you have access to an indexed 1851 census that would put this Thomas & Elizabeth as born in Lowton? ASHTON The 1841 census gives Richard & Ann ASHTON (and possible Richard's parents) HO 107 524-11 pg 21 folio 36 Lowton, Chapel Lane It has James (65) & Ann (60) ASHTON, with Richard (20, son?) & Ann (20) and William (1month, grandson?) ASHTON. Richard ASHTON b. abt 1817 in Lowton (ref 1881 census) Can you help locate this Richard? Can anyone help locate the marriage (possibly between 1835 and 1841) of Richard ASHTON and Ann GERRARD? GERRARD has been verified on a birth certificate of an off-spring. Many thanks.
