photo of the queen's head pub in the early 1900's ,the saddle pub is just visible on the left hand side near the first lamp post,
the building with the butterfly advert on later
became the st'edwards church,and then the
innisfree club,the pub stood at the junction
of warrington rd and ormskirk rd,and was demolished in the late sixties.

excellent photo, it never ceases to amaze me how much things change over the years, it's fascinating for me to see what familiar place looked like years ago.
It's great that they are all being put on the site for everyone to share.

Was the pub on junction of Warrington rd and victoria st not the mechanics. ?
