I thought at first it was the old SELNEC colours but think they were tangerine and brown weren't they? yuk!

Used to spend ages thinking up alternatives to South East Lancs North East Cheshire when stuck on the bus; Some Elephants Love Nylon Encapsulated Cheese etc!!!

Good to see Blutos just behind too!

626 the old Beech Hill circular, the 625 ran the opposite way

These are the old SELNEC colours, the tangerine and brown were yet to come with GM Buses.
626 and 625 still rn today, and they still both go in opposite cicular.

They only became circulars in 1986 at Bus De-Regulation. prior to this the 626 ran up Gidlow lane to the junction of Netherby Road/Beech Hill Avenue, the 625 went up Springfield Road and did a 1 way circle of the estate before going back the way it left Wigan. In Corpy & early GMT days, they both started in Ashton as routes 1 & 2.
