the lady with the glasses at the front is magerie hough she was the leader she still lives in hindley my sister and 2 cousins was in her troup my mam dad and me used to go with them to dances my dad whitend all the troups pumps we had some real good times

Yes that is Margery and her husband Jimmy Hough at the back of her.We used to train every Tuesday and Thursday in the old Ince Central School hall,preparing for the weekends when we went to carnivals,galas and competitions at venues all over the north west.
A ritual every Friday was, as she44 says, whitening our pumps and making sure that the bells (which were tied into the laces)were polished and gleaming.
Boy, were you in trouble if you sullied your pumps on competition day, Jimmy Hough would be on you like a ton of bricks.
Yes, we had a brilliant time,it certainly kept us out of mischief.

She44, when were you in the troupe and what is your surname.
I was in from 1947 to 1954

hi evelyn i wasnt in the troupe my sister edna whittle was my cousins olive& sylvia groves where i just went round with them not shure of the dates your right about the pumps
