Is Ernie Bate any relation to Mrs Golding? who lived in the cottage in Kingsdown road facing Mrs Meadows {schoolteacher]house?

Comment by: elizabeth bate on 25th November 2008 at 17:15

That would be Ernie's grandma Carrie Goulding, she lived no.5 Kingsdown Rd. Ernie was also born there, they then moved on to Warrington Rd, next block up from the old school

Has Ernie got a brother Philip? I may have got them mixed up on the choir photo.IF you look on the Abram school concert photo Madge Goulding is sitting 2nd from left.

I think Philip Bate is younger than me so I doubt he would have been on that photograph.

Yes Ernie had a brother Philip, born 1954 sadly passed away 1995. Thanks for info on Abram choir photo with Madge on, we havent seen that before.

To Elizabeth & Ernie Bate,The drummer in this photo is Brian Wilson & not Kenny Darwell, who features on an earlier photo of the group.Brian Wilson lived at 350 Warrington Rd.He was one of my best mates at Moss Lane school. If you read this posting Ernie, willyou please contact me via my attached email,I am trying to trace Brian for a school reunion. You may be able to help me out.I've spoken to Alec Toohey, who is trying to help find out his whereabouts too.
