I remember watching out for all the famous trains passing from the physics and science labs at linacre allday.No wonder i only got a GCE in woodwork,my parents said you,ll have to be a joiner which i did.

Another great photo ! The Duchess of Buccleuch was one of my all-time favourites partly because we didn't have a clue what it referred to but also because one day a long time ago on the train into Wigan from Bryn (to go trainspotting) our train met the "Duchess" at the junction with the main line into Wigan - AT FULL SPEED! Unforgettable!!
