this badge belonged to J Byrne,Ince,WIGAN.He served with the LANCSASHIRE FUSILEERS REGEMENT during W.W.I.
Hello Kath. Was J Byrne your Grandfather. I am interested in Army Cap badges and I hope you don't mind me telling you that this badge is the 1917 pattern Machine Gun Corps badge.It depicts crossed machine guns under the King's Crown. Mr Byrne was probably attached to them from the Lancashire Fusiliers but the Fusiliers badge is totaly different. I hope this does not upset you in any way.

Hello again Kath, I hope you don't mind me going on about your badge. I have just uploaded 4 badges on one photo' of local regiments and No2 on page 3 is the cap badge of The Lancashire Fusiliers. Yours Etc, E. Turner.
