As promised, one of Eddie Smalley's pencil drawings. I think this is Ertha Kitt. Eddie lived in School Street when he was born. His parents were Clarence and Clara Smalley (nee Halsall) Later he lived at my nan's shop in Millgate before moving to Douglas House flats when the shop was demolished.

Graham,he was very talented..that is brilliant.
Veronica, what was it she used to sing?....I want an old-fashioned house with an old-fashioned fence and an old-fashioned Millionaire". Well I got the old-fashioned house.....it stopped there! What a talented artist!

I have the ' old fashioned fence' Irene - they're that old they have turned to cardboard! I'm making them last so they'll outlast me.
