Does anyone still use this gauge?.

I don’t suppose many people will have used this type of gauge for quite a few years. I used it many times, in the past. Found it in a cupboard rusting away.

Used feeler Gauges when I was a tool maker,also when was setting the gap on the spark plugs.

And for setting tappets: I still have mine, and though they are about 60 years old, in better nick than those in photo.

I do not rebuild engines these days, but if I had to, they are the instrument I would use.

Also recall we used them for adjusting PO type 3000 relays, I think we used to set the unexcited gap to be 5 mills (ie 5 thou.)

Screwfix sell them, so I guess folk still do use them.

Used them daily as a pit leccy and occasionally setting valves and injectors on diesel engines on the railway

Yes still very much in use feeler Gauge, Tappets-cam followers and other settings Metric and Imperial. Also used in machinery and engineering settings.

The 'one thou' blade never used to last very long, did it. Far too delicate.
