Much nicer when the old Harp pub was on the corner of Vauxhall Rd and Scholes. Certainly far more character to it and a decent building as were others in the area.

Although I agree with wiganreds comment regards Greenalls bitter, I always found the bitter in the Flamingo to be a fine pint, also good in The Crispin up the road from here. But in most pubs Greenalls was a dire pint.

But could the barmaids compare with that young lady in The Platt Bridge Inn, young Dennis?!

Reminds me of the film 'The Student Prince' after the Drink,Drink song.... saw that one at the Scholes Pictures. Ann Blythe the soldier's favourite barmaid Irene - don't know if you saw it.

Veronica, if you only knew how many times I've had "Goodnight, Irene" sung to me by drunks! No, I haven't seen The Student Prince and the soldier's favourite barmaid, but I was Dennis's favourite barmaid!
