October 1998. I rededicated the Memorial on the Remembrance Sunday following.
The inner construction of the Memorial has been exposed by the removal of the stone tablets bearing the names of the casualties. When they were returned, with the names freshly incised, there were some gaps as no list of the names seems to exist - and a few were too eroded to be read.
Unlike most WW1 Memorials, this one was not modified to accommodate the names of those who fell in WW2 - instead a small bell tower was added to Christ Church Ince, and the list of casualties recorded on a bronze plaque affixed to the tower.

Very sad to see there are no comments by grateful Wiganers or Incers, I have family members names on both memorials mentioned. Thank you Rev David Long for the photos and a bigger thank you to the men who's names who are on all the memorials. It maybe one hundred years ago that the slaughter stopped but some won't ever forget their sacrifice.

The moon gives you light,
And the bugles and the drums give you music,
And my heart,Oh my soldiers,my veterans,
My heart gives you love.
