Carried out on 28th September 1950 by the MP For Ince, Tom Brown. The Vicar of St Mary's was John Bebb.
The memorial, perhaps too eroded to consider keeping, was lost when the church was demolished in 1978.
The church's WW1 Memorial plaque is inside - it seems strange that the WW2 Memorial wasn't also placed inside.
The WW1 Memorial was refurbished, and a replacement WW2 Memorial (with more names) created, when the 'new' St Mary's church was refurbished in 2002.
