It appears Shevington did not erect a Memorial to those who fell in WW1. This was rectified in 1952 when the names of sixteen WW1 casualties were inscribed on the plaque placed on the Memorial raised to commemorate the dead of WW2.
A project currently in progress will be installing a fresh plaque, listing men who are not presently commemorated on this memorial. Up to fourteen names from WW1 may be added.

I think the person laying the wreath was Jim Tyrer who I believe earned an award as the longest serving member of the choir.

The Gentleman laying the wreath appears to be the organist as he is wearing a split sleeve surplice which gives freedom of arm movement whilst playing. Jim Tyrer is on the photo at the back.
