The final Mass.
The last Mass held last Tuesday, 7.30 pm. 28th, November,2017 at St William's R.C. Church, Higher Ince. A photograph of the altar, It had been a place of worship for one hundred, and eight years. I have been told that St Edward's has also closed. If true, did anyone take any photographs of the final Mass, if so can they publish them on W.W.A.

I have been informed that the Sacred Heart Church, at Springfield has been renamed St Edward's.

Very sad for the people of the parish. We went through similar at Saint Catherine of Siena, Lowton in July 2011. It was a very difficult time for all concerned. We merged with All Saints Golborne, Saint Lewis' Croft,is in our cluster as well. Recently Blessed English Martyrs Haydock joined us in our cluster as well. The good thing is that everyone has pulled together and and we have a good community spirit. It took a while for everyone to settle down but we have done.

The future of St Williams RC church looks bleak, exacerbated with the recent death of the last priest, Fr Ron McGivern. It has a lovely interior with red carpet. Hope it wpn'tend up derelict and vandalised like St Josephs.
