Wigan Album

A group of children and young people taken around 1936 at Westwood IM chapel. The group was called 'The Sunshine Corner'. Here are a few names. On the front row, second from the right is Jean Stott. Second row, third from the right is Arnold Green. The little boy in the front row is Kenny Parry. I think he played the Hippodrome and possibly The Little Theatre in his acting career, as well TV parts. The gentleman on the left of the photo is Mr Parr, and on the right is Bill Sturgeon. The Jones brothers, Allan and Tommy are also there. third and fourth row respectively. The children met weekly and gave concerts for the local area. The church still stands in James Street, Lower Ince, but like many churches it is in decline.
