My son and daughter-in-law got married in 2003, and went round the world on their honeymoon, (what happened to a week at Blackpool?!). However, times change, and they visited Fiji, Australia, Hawaii, and America, and were looking in the window of a store in San Francisco, and were amazed to see.....a tin of Uncle Joe's Mintballs....a little taste of Home! Oh, how a tin of Uncle Joe's can transport you back to Wigan, whatever your surroundings....and a good thing too!

I just about remember those points as sugar was still rationed up till the early 50's when my mam gave me some coupons to get some toffees with. I remember skipping along and thinking to myself how nice it is that toffees
are free ....and I didn't need any money to get them!!!

I seem to recall that you could buy 3 Uncle Joe's for a penny (1d) in the 1960's.

I would like to gamble a bag of mintballs that back in the day they would have been twice the size of what they are today.

Wink. Buy a lot of commodities today, and they seemed to have reduced in size considerably since two, or three years ago.

They're in our local supermarket in Jacksonville, FL.
