Further research after sending a pic of the Haydock tablet in St Wilfrid's Standish revealed that another memorial had been installed at the church of St John the Divine in Coppull.
Research also revealed that the family had wanted to include a reference on the Standish tablet to Lt. George Guest Haydock's being killed in the war - but this was omitted from the final version - perhaps because of lack of space... or perhaps because Rector Hutton vetoed it.
It will be seen that not only is there a record on this Coppull version of his death (apart, strangely, for the date - 28th May 1918), but the donor of the two tablets, his father Robert Roger Haydock, is also recorded.
The Dedication of the tablet was conducted by the Vicar of St John's, the former Curate of St Wilfrid's, the Revd. Thomas Cruddas Porteus (author of A History of the Parish of Standish, 1927), in April 1926.
